“March to the Majority: The Real Story of the Republican Revolution,” by Newt Gingrich, with Joe Gaylord (Center Street)
New York Times bestselling author Gingrich is best known for leading the country as House speaker to a Republican renaissance in 1994 and achieving the first GOP majority in 40 years. He did it with his “Contract With America” — promises he made and kept with the American people. In “March to the Majority” he describes how that success can be used as a blueprint to build it again in the upcoming elections. Jason Chaffetz, a former Utah Republican congressman, explains that merely winning future elections isn’t enough to restore America to her former greatness. Much of the country’s work is being performed by people and entities who are unelected and unaccountable to the American people.
