Rep. Ashley Hinson to Newsmax: No ‘Accountability’ at Border

[ad_1]

Rep. Ashley Hinson, R-Iowa, told Newsmax on Monday that there has been “a complete lack of accountability” from President Joe Biden’s administration when it comes to the border.

Reuters reports that a group of migrants clashed with Texas law enforcement along the Rio Grande River 10 days ago after attempting to pull down razor wire and fences. Several migrants were later charged with “riot participation.”

According to The New York Post, some of the migrants who allegedly started the riot were released by an El Paso judge on Sunday on their own recognizance while they await trial. The judge reportedly accused the El Paso District Attorney’s Office of not being prepared to proceed with detention hearings for each defendant.

When asked on “American Agenda” about the incident and the ongoing situation at the border, Hinson said, “It’s a complete lack of accountability. Everyone who saw that footage knows the danger that this presents to our country.”

She added, “That is an invasion … This border crisis has made every single American less safe. I’ve been out and I’ve been to the border twice, and I’ve been out into my district hearing directly from our law enforcement here. Cartel-related drug activity is up three times over what it was before President Biden took office.”

Hinson said, “This, the safety and security issue, is why we say every state is a border state, including states like Iowa.”
