Woman’s 11-step cruise safety plan mocked: ‘Forgot the guard dogs’

Call it a boos cruise.

A cruise vlogger has gone viral for her elaborate, 11-step cruise safety plan that has her using a special lock, alarm, and camera and barricading the door with unusual items, like a towel, hanger, and large furniture.

“Women’s Cruise Safety Tips,” @VictoriasWay captioned the minute-long clip, which has taken off with 18.6 million views this month.

Victoria doesn’t speak as she demonstrates the routine in a strappy black dress and sandals — her critics do all the talking in the comments.

“‘Stay safe on your cruise’ *blocks emergency exits with multiple items,*” scoffed one TikToker.

“Bro imagine if the cruise went titantic 2.0 and youve made your door look like david bowies labyrinth,” noted a second.

“You forgot the guard dogs and the sniper tower w/spotlight,” blasted a third.

The tutorial starts pretty innocuously by advising passengers to close their doors and turn on their lights.

“Don’t forget the salt circles to protect you from the supernatural entities, can’t have surprise attacks,” someone else recommended.

“The balcony?? You got pirates getting ready to grapple up there or something?” one person wondered.

“Is your cruise going to Detroit??” deadpanned another.

The Post reached out to Victoria for comment.

Victoria did not say how much the extra items, like the door-stop alarm, cost her.

She recommends taking these steps when turning in for the night on a ship:

  • Close the door and turn on the light.
  • Use a portable door lock to lock the door.
  • Press the “do not disturb” button.
  • Close the peephole.
  • Install a door-stop alarm.
  • Connect the door handle and deadbolt or door hinge with a hanger for added security.
  • Roll a medium-sized towel and put it behind the handle to block it.
  • Place a heavy piece of furniture against the door.
  • Install a wireless security camera in an inconspicuous place.
  • Look around from the balcony to make sure you don’t see anything strange.
  • Lock the balcony and close the curtains.
“The balcony?? You got pirates getting ready to grapple up there or something?” one commenter asked.

Victoria’s video was posted days after Business Insider reported last month that more than 450 allegations of sex crimes on cruise ships were logged between 2015 and 2022.

The number of incidents is likely much higher, experts told the outlet, because victims are often too ashamed to come forward.

In a March investigation, BuzzFeed News noted that sexual assaults are the most prevalent crime on cruise ships reported to the FBI.

For her part, Victoria went viral two months ago for a hotel safety routine that was deemed “insane.”

Her other tutorials include how to avoid seasickness on a cruise, how to check for bed bugs in a hotel room, and how to marinate a turkey at home.
